Home Sweet Home

Jeff and I sneaked into the house a little before midnight last night after 20 hours, 20 minutes, and 51 seconds of travel time.  We were exhausted and considered crawling into bed without even brushing our teeth.  Don't worry, we did end up brushing our teeth and washing faces after tearing ourselves away from watching the kids sleep.  It was SO good to see their sweet little faces.  Jackson wouldn't let Jeff put him down for a minute this morning and would only eat his breakfast if Jeff gave it to him.  The boy would have nothing to do with me.  He just kept looking at me without a smile or anything--guilt trip perhaps?  Addi made up for Jack's rejection a bit with her excitement in having us home.  She was all smiles, hugs, and kisses, and she kept saying how much she missed us and loves us.  So precious.  Jackson did warm up to me after a few hours and by the end of the day, he wouldn't let me out of his sight.  We've got them tucked into bed and are headed to bed ourselves.  Yes, it's not even 8:00 and we're ready to turn in.  The house is all spiffy clean and tidy, both kids are bathed, all the laundry is done, and we're completely unpacked.  It's been a busy day.  

I will post about our last couple of days in Germany and add pics of the ropes course and gliding very soon.  We are SO happy to be home with the kids and Jeff is looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but we both miss Germany and the McDonalds VERY much.  Absolutely nothing could have made our vacation better and we're suffering from a bit of withdrawal.  We have 2 more weeks of an international calling plan on our home phone and we'll be calling across the ocean quite a bit until that expires.  Gradual weaning, folks.  : )
