Ice Day!

I was talking to my mom earlier about what in the world we'd do all day since we really can't get out of the house. Addi's been sick AND the roads are frozen. Here's what went down:

Mom: "Why don't y'all make play dough?"

Me: "Oh, no! We just cleaned yesterday. Jeff would NOT like that. We can't make any messes today."

After a few minutes of silence in which I could almost hear her exasperation, she responded with a sigh, "Tricia. You can clean again. Make play dough with your kids."

Me: "Yes ma'am." And we DID make play dough (without making a mess---we are Durands after all!).

Yeah we did!

Good thing she has a while before Kindergarten--check out those scissor skills!

Jackson loved making airplanes (little blobs he flew through the air with sound effects).

He learned that it does NOT taste good!

In other Durand news...Jeff had planned to leave an hour early for work this morning to allow plenty of time for safe travel on the icy roads. But just after we went to sleep last night, one of the guys called that drove in last night and told him the roads would probably not be safe in the morning. So my good man got up and drove into work last night, arriving just after midnight, and slept on a couch at the station for the remainder of the night. Nothing will keep him away from work--he LOVES his job!
