Glen Rose with Papa

We met my dad in Glen Rose for a fun day. We went to Fossil Rim first and spent about 3 hours driving though the "ranch," with a lunch break in the middle. Some animals were cautious about the car, but others were pretty bold. We were greeted by an ostrich just inside the gate and he pretty much tried to climb in the car with us. Another ostrich scared me to death when he stuck his head in and grabbed the bag of food I was holding. I was yelling, Addi was crying, and the guys were laughing their heads off. When we passed that same ostrich on the way out, Jeff wanted to show how much of a tough guy he is by feeding him from his hand. Jeff definitely got bitten by an ostrich--he had Jeff's finger in his mouth and would not let go. Pretty hilarious.
About to be attacked...

Jackson LOVED all the animals.

Zebras bite. I have proof on my steering wheel.

The goats may be gentle, but they do not like for kids to sit on them at all.

Addi was exhausted by the end. She is trying to take a nap using the car and Duck as a pillow. Not comfy.

After Fossil Rim, we drove over to Dinosaur Valley State Park. There are preserved dinosaur footprints in the river bed and it is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so we don't have pics of us wading/falling in the river. My dad carried Addi on his shoulders and bumped into a rock about 1/2 way down the river. They went tumbling in and got soaking wet. Jeff carried Jackson in the backpack and they stayed pretty dry. Here's one pic of Addi posing by a big dinosaur. She likes the T-Rex better, but this pic was the one that turned out.
