Uh-oh!

We've got more company today.

He's really nice and is teaching my curious husband all about septic systems. I'm hearing lots of potty talk out there.

And guess what?!! Jeff got to save us $100 by digging the holes himself. Isn't that nice?

You see folks, our septic system has been grumpy since the day we moved in. Take a bath on a rainy day and that thing goes on strike. We just quit taking baths. But having so many folks showering this weekend (and they were good about being quick and spreading it out) followed by a good rain shower on Sunday was just more than it could handle. The tanks are completely full and when I started a load of laundry this morning, unpleasantness spewed into our house. The washer drained it's dirty water into the kitchen, nasty stuff came up into both bathtubs, and don't even get me started on the toilets and kitchen sink!

It stinks. It really, really stinks.

Thankfully, this all waited until after d-now and for a day when Jeff is home. He was minutes from the house when stuff started happening and I'm so thankful that he was here to deal with it.

Now we just have to clean up the mess and use what Jeff's been out there learning to keep it from happening ever again.

Yes, Jeff has saved the day again.  But you still can't miss his dance video a couple of posts down.  It's great.  Watch it.

Maybe this will be Jeff's second calling. Can you imagine him coming home everyday smelling like that. ?? maybe he already does!

We've had that problem at our house, too. Not septic, but because of roots growing in our plumbing. No fun! I'm glad your visitors were at least out of the house when it backed up, though!
